Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of Winona Ryder named her for her hometown. Michel Horowitz' father was an editor and writer, as were Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's father is from a Jewish family Ryder thinks she's Jewish. She has two younger half-siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's family relocated from Mendocino County in California at the age of 7 years old. They resided in an area without electric power. Ryder became an avid read because they had no television. Ryder aged 12 enrolled at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in the year 1983. When she was 15, Ryder landed her very first role on screen, in Lucas. Ryder faced bullying in high school. She hoped that her acting career would end the way she dealt with bullying. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. It didn't stop her from following her dreams. In 1988 she had her biggest break with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder kept playing successful roles in various films. In 1993, she was awarded an Oscar Award to be awarded for The Age of Innocence.
